Teaching, Wedding, and Waiting

Well, I have one substituting job scheduled so far ... for February. It's a long way off, but it's two full days of substitute teaching! :-j
Supposedly, other jobs will be posted online as teachers find out about them ahead of time, and the phone calls are only for last-minute subbing situations, like a teacher's sick-day. That's good to know. I'm wondering how long it will take the system to notice that I completed the silly tutorials I was required to watch. (20 mins of slides with 5 questions afterwards... doesn't seem like the world's best teaching method to me!) Hopefully it'll show up on the system by Monday, so I can start getting calls.

Wedding planning has come to a standstill, as we're stuck on a reception venue. Does anyone know of a nice, affordable reception venue between Wheeler and Fenton? The closer to Wheeler, the better, but we'd like it to be in that general direction as it's "on the way home" for most of our guests. As a last resort we can use the parish hall here, but I'd like a slightly more formal setting, if we can swing it. My head just can't grasp the combination of formal dress at a potluck-type situation. :)

I'm still waiting for the information to come back for the other two schools I applied to sub at. I did get a letter yesterday declining one of my "real" job applications... it was nice of them to let me know. I have to keep reminding myself to wait on the Lord for the right job, and that it may not come until next year when Adam and I know where we're going to be living. I'd rather have a good idea of that now though, and get a start on settling into the job before we're learning how to live together. I can forsee a lot of challenges starting a marriage and two new jobs at the same time. Scary!
